Caravan Protest for the Release of Abducted Soldiers

From July 2007, this video (0:59) covers a caravan of hundreds of Israeli citizens who drove from Yad Mordechai in southern Israel to Rosh Hanikra on the Lebanon border in a protest demanding the release of three kidnapped Israeli soldiers. The route created a link between Gilad Shalit, kidnapped by Hamas terrorists from Gaza in June 2006, and Eldad Regev and Ehud Goldwasser, captured by Hezbollah terrorists in July 2006, triggering the Second Lebanon War. The video includes a clip of Goldwasser’s mother addressing the crowd, criticizing the government and calling on all Israelis to help bring the boys back home. The dead bodies of Regev and Goldwasser were returned to Israel in 2008, and Shalit came home alive in 2011.
