The Case of Muhammad al-Durrah

This video presents one perspective on the Muhammad al-Durrah incident, where a 12-year old Palestinian boy was allegedly killed by Israeli soldiers during a riot in the Gaza Strip on September 30, 2000, the second day of the Second Intifada. While the event was used by Palestinian terrorists and other terrorist groups around the world to incite violence and murder, during the Second Intifada and beyond, some argue that it was a staged “Pallywood” lie, and that the boy was not killed. Citing inconsistencies and strange aspects of the video footage and news broadcasting, Melanie Phillips, a British journalist, author and public commentator who moved from the left to the right of the political spectrum, argues that the whole incident was a lie staged in order to justify more violence. Despite thorough investigations from multiple bodies, there has been no conclusive evidence to what actually happened, and it remains a highly controversial incident of the Second Intifada.
