This video presents a Kabbalistic poem sometimes recited before the daytime Kiddush sung to a melody from the Modzitz Hasidic group, known for their musical compositions. Based on passages in the Zohar, Atkinu Seudata was written in Aramaic by Rabbi Isaac Luria, the leader of the kabbalistic community in Sfat in the 16th century. It is the second in a series of three poems, each corresponding to one of the three Sabbath meals and recited before the appropriate meal. This tune was composed by Rebbe Shmuel Eliyahu Taub (1905-1984), a great composer, Torah scholar and former Modzitzer Rebbe. This video shows Rabbi Abraham Taylor singing the tune at a post-Shabbat celebration in the Shirat Shlomo synagogue in Efrat, Israel. English Translation
Prepare the meal of perfect faith, the joy of the Holy King.
Prepare the meal of the King. This is the meal of Atika Kadisha. And the Orchard of Holy Apples as well Zeir Anpin are also present at this meal.
