Musical Light Show in Zedekiah’s Cave

This video (01:02) presents a short clip from a fascinating musical light show in Zedekiah’s Cave (also called Solomon’s Quarries and the Cave of the Kings), a 5 acre underground quarry beneath the Muslim Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. This performance was by Pyromania, a creative production group that creates spectacular visual art shows using light, color and technology. A site shrouded in mystery and legend, it has been suggested that both the First and Second Temples were built using stones from this quarry and that King Zedekiah fled the falling city through this cave, as Jerusalem was captured by the Chaldeans. A beautiful archaeological site, the cave is often used as a venue for events, concerts and performances.
