Young Adults Celebrate Their Bar/Bat Mitzvah in Israel

This 3 minute long video from Taglit-Birthright Israel shares the experiences of young adult participants who held their Bar/Bat Mitzvah in Israel. Whether they were celebrating for the first or second time, all agreed that this was a meaningful milestone that made them feel more connected to Judaism and the Jewish people. The participants can be seen reciting blessings and dancing the hora on the top of Masada and at the Western Wall, two iconic historical and religious sites in Israel. While the Jewish coming of age ceremony is traditionally celebrated at 12 years old for girls and 13 years old for boys, it is never too late for one to affirm (or reaffirm!) their commitment to Judaism. Taglit-Birthright Israel provides free Israel trips to Jewish young adults from the Diaspora to strengthen Jewish identity, community and connection with Israel.
