The ultra-orthodox coalition has been able to maintain a religious atmosphere on Shabbat, because on this holy day of rest, shops, restaurants, and cinemas are not permitted to do business. Malach also points out that up until recently, the ultra-orthodox population was voting as a group, but now, due to a decrease in rabbinical influence in regard to politics, the ultra-orthodox vote is becoming more divided among different candidates.
