This video present’s Israel’s winning song in the 2018 Eurovision Song Contest in Lisbon, “Toy” by Netta Barzilay, a global symbol of feminism and diversity, described by some as the “anti-Barbie.” Inspired by the #MeToo movement, the lyrics and tone of the bizarre pop song song send a message of female empowerment and inspire people to challenge conventions. Although the song is mostly in English, it contains one line in Hebrew (“Ani lo bubah”- I’m not a doll), one word in Japanese (“baka”- stupid), and lots of chicken clucking noises.
