Written in the context of the First Zionist Congress of 1897, this early Zionist anthem captures the enthusiastic pioneering spirit of the early Zionist movement. The lyrics, displayed onscreen in Hebrew, English and transliteration, describe the Jewish people rediscovering themselves as a nation and returning to their ancestral homeland. The lyrics were written by Noah Rosenblum, a Polish journalist and songwriter, and the melody was composed by Noah Zeldkovsky, a Polish cantor and composer.
