David D’Or: Chabad Shalom Aleichem Tune

This video features Israeli singer, composer and songwriter, David D’Or, performing the Chabad melody for Shalom Aleichem from the album “Tzama 2: Artists Singing the Melodies of the Ba’al HaTanya.” The goal of this album, a collaborative project of some of Israel’s most well known artists, is to bring Chabad tunes to a wider audience. This melody was composed by Rav Shneur Zalman of Liadi, the founder and first Rebbe of the Chabad branch of Hasidic Judaism, also known as the Ba’al HaTanya. Best known for his extraordinary vocal range of more than four octaves, David D’or is a three-time winner of the Israeli “Singer of the Year” and “Best Vocal Performer” awards. A native Israeli of Libyan descent, he performs a wide variety of music, including pop, rock, folk, Klezmer, Yemenite prayers, holy music, ancient chants, opera, and baroque arias (in the original Italian.)
