The Case for an Egalitarian Prayer Space at the Western Wall

Leslie Sachs, executive director of the Women of the Wall, shares her mission in this clip (02:21) put out by popular left-leaning Israeli news hub Haaretz. Since 1988, the organization has been fighting for an egalitarian prayer space at the Western Wall, the holiest site in Israel, which has always followed strictly Orthodox prayer laws. The organization and its sympathizers argue that these laws are exclusionary and authoritarian and have no place in a democratic country.
