In this casual interview (8:21) put out by “On the Map”, meet Ofir Touché Gafla: a highly talented Israeli author with a cult-like following both in Israel and abroad. His first book, The World of the End (2004), received the Geffen Award for best fantasy/science fiction novel and the Kugel Award for Hebrew Literature in 2006. Gafla’s style is unique, blending fiction and reality, imagination and metaphysics, as he delves into other-worldly, larger-than-life questions. Touché, as he is affectionately called by his peers and students, teaches creative writing in the Sam Spiegel School of TV and Cinema in Jerusalem.
