Created by the TALI Education Fund, these digital educational resources combine textual Jewish learning with hands-on work in agriculture and with animals, designed for schools that have agricultural spaces, a community garden or a petting zoo. The goal of the program is to root hands-on experiential learning in Jewish tradition, fostering students’ appreciation for nature, emphasizing the importance of working the land, strengthening the emotional connection to the land, and cultivating a deep sense of respect and responsibility for the environment. The digital materials are spread across several years of learning, each focused on a different category: The Creation of the World (Grade 2), Following the Calendar (Grade 3), Reciprocity (Grade 4), The Land of Israel (Grade 5), Responsibility & Sustainability (Grade 6). TALI, a Hebrew acronym for “Enriched Jewish Studies,” provides a pluralistic Jewish Studies program focused on Jewish heritage and identity to more than 12% of all secular public schools in Israel.
